Our History

  • JM Interior Works (1990)

    • It has been more than 30 years when we first enter this industry.
    • Started by Mr Jamaludin Bin Masood many decades ago with a goal in mind - to provide transparency in the home renovation market.
    • Back then, there wasn't any social media platform for people to share their horror stories or bad experiences about being cheated, however many of these cheating cases do happen very frequently, just that not many people were aware.
    • He wanted to be different, he wanted to be that honest and reliable contractor to change people perceptions. Back then, everything is very different that what we came to know today.
    • There wasn't much licensing and safety regulations compare to today. Workers are mostly paid by cash, there wasn't even a proper invoice or quotations. He didn't even had a printer when he started.
    • He continued running the business on and off, doing both residential projects and commercial projects while working a full time job.
    • His commitment was to his family and his day job thus he didn't had many opportunity to expand the business.
    • The traditional media to advertise his services, was also very costly and the options wasn't as plentiful thus he rely mostly on word of mouth for referrals business.

  • JM & SONS General Contractor Pte. Ltd.

    • In 2018, both his Son's decided to took over and incorporated the company. They properly set up the company to enable us to employ our own foreign workers and to tender for both private and government commercial projects.
    • From then on, we have been involved in both residential and commercial projects, gaining numerous support even without any form of advertisement.
    • We realized that many direct home owners are yearning for more transparency and assurance, there need to be a change from the traditional ways of renovating - we started the idea for consumers to go for direct contractors instead of going through an ID or middle-man.
    • We disrupted the market by advocating our clients to go for direct contractors, gaining both positive and negative response. Many homeowners thanked us and many ID's were against us.
    • To further provide assurance, we provide all our clients with an add-on public liability insurance covering all our projects for up to $1,000,000
    • We obtain many credentials, certificates and was also awarded Singapore's Top 100 Entrepreneur Award 2022
